When is the Right Time Should Your Boy be Circumcised?

This is a difficult one, for most people its more of a religious or cultural issue, than a medical one. If neonatal circumcision wasn't done, then it can be delayed until the pre-teen or teenage years when the boy can fully understand what he will go through (pain and post circumcision care). It is also best for parents requesting for circumcision of their male children to have both general and local complication explained to the child.

Although there are medical condition that warrant an earlier circumcision such as balanitis xerotica obliterans, a skin condition affecting the male genitalia; recurrent balanoposthitis or inflammation of the foreskin and glans in uncircumcised males; and glans in uncircumcised males; and proven urinary tract anomaly, to reduce the risk of infection with possible local and systemic damage.
