Summer is nearing , and I can't wait to have our yearly vacation. I'm working in a school and classes will end this March, so we'll start our vacation after that. I can still remember my last summer vacation and it was a blast. We went to Bohol, and my main target was to see the Tarsier, beaches and the famous Chocolate Hills. We planned for that vacation for several months. We took a bus to Cagayan de Oro City, and from there, we then boarded a ship straight to Bohol. It was a hot sunny day when we arrived in Bohol, and then we took another ride straight to our hotel.
We started our tour the following day. We first visited some of their old churches, and they have plenty of it. One that I can't forget is the Baclayon church, the oldest coral stone church in Visayas and Mindanao. After the churches we then visited the Tarsier, they are such cute little creatures (but smelly). Tarsier handlers and caretakers warned us not to use flash on our camera because it will damage their eyesight and eventually they'll die. Don't know if it's true or not but we followed their restrictions because were good tourist, hahahaha. The next day we went to the famous Chocolate Hills. Going up the steps to the viewing pad was a breath taker (I almost lost my breath cause its too high). Upon reaching the top we then watch the beautiful and exhilarating Chocolate Hills, though its not that chocolaty to look at, but the view at the top was really nice.
The last day of our tour was spent on buying gifts and souvenir items. Although we already set aside money for the trip, we didn't anticipate that we spend too much for the souvenirs. Since we brought cash and our ATM card, we went beyond our budget and keep on withdrawing at the ATM machine. Lots of souvenir items were too beautiful to resist.
It was after the vacation we felt the burden of spending too much that we lived several months on a tight budget to recover from it. It would have been nice if we had a prepaid credit card at that time so we can control our spending. I think I'll use that on our next vacation which will be in Camiguin Island.
